Our Labor

The idea of food banks emerges in 1967 in the United States, on the initiative of John Van Helgen, when a mother of 9 children tells him that he is able to feed all his children by collecting the food that falls and nobody recovers, during the discharge in a market.

Jhon Van Helgen organizes a food collection with volunteers and this is how the first Food Bank was born, in an old warehouse.

Inspired by this idea, today there are more than 1,200 Food Banks around the world, which help more than 50 million people.
